Magalluf, located on the Majorca, is probably the most favourite holiday destination of the under-30 tourist, who is looking for continuous fun and a raucously good time. Being only about 15 kms from the islands capital Palma de Mallorca, the resort is easily accessible to all. Magaluf beach is also the largest on this part of the island. Magaluf has three beaches. Majorca beach, Magaluf beach and the Palma Nova beach. The beaches are crescent in shape and you’ll find them wide and very nice. There isn’t much shade, so beach umbrellas are a big item.
And planned as if you’d do it yourself, Magalluf has a walk and shops that line the beach interspersed with tastefully decorated hotels, most very upscale. This beach is geared toward that club generation. If you’re into beaches,
or nightclubs, this is the place to visit. Magaluf is at its peak in summer and almost comes to a standstill during the winter months of November through March. If you can get in on the tail end of March, you can find a lot of bargains.
Apart from its clubs and signature beaches, Magaluf is also famed for Aqualand Magaluf, with some thrilling water slides and speed tubes, plus the Western Park Crazy Wet West, with its water rides, Jacuzzis and horse riding shows. Adults on Magaluf may also like to visit the beautiful Cove of Portals Vells, a sandy cove surrounded by cliffs near the southwest tip of Palma Bay. With the longest sandy beach, Magaluf resort has some of the best beach life.
The beach of Magaluf is the perfect place to sleep off an unpleasant hangover. :-) At around a kilometre long, there's usually space for some sunbathing even in high season, and those looking to explore can visit a small island just off the coast via a pedallo or boat. Magaluf beach is kept very clean by the council and has been awarded
the blue flag award on several occasions. The view is crystal clear, and some days you can see the neighbouring coasts of Palma and El Arenal! Those looking for something more than just relaxing (who I feel sort of miss the point of beaches) will be delighted to know that there are fishing, snorkelling and watersports options available.
Magaluf beach is entirely covered by hotels and provides accommodation in all budgets and sizes. With its wide sandy beach and rollicking crowd can be most enjoyed in the peak summer months of June, July and August. However Magaluf is completely packed with young holidaymakers at this time, but during the off peak season, it is a lot more calmer, (wilder entertainment venues remaining closed) and hence is a great destination for the families.
